This interactive eLearning course was developed to transform instructor-provided material on public speaking techniques into an engaging and accessible online learning experience. Using the ADDIE instructional design model, I organized and structured the given content into a modular, interactive format that guides learners through key topics such as vocal variety, posture, gestures, and facial expressions.
The course was designed using Adobe Captivate, featuring interactive tabs, multimedia enhancements, and scenario-based examples to promote active learning. I developed a final quiz to assess knowledge retention and implement automated certificate issuance upon course completion.
Bloom’s Taxonomy informed the structuring of learning activities, targeting cognitive skills including understanding, applying, and analyzing key communication techniques.
The course was deployed via SCORM Cloud, enabling flexible access, learner progress tracking, and completion verification.
By the end of the course, learners are able to:
Demonstrate effective use of vocal variety during presentations
Apply appropriate posture, gestures, and facial expressions to enhance speech delivery
Analyze and adapt their nonverbal communication strategies based on audience engagement
